Day Care Service History
Day Care Service (DCS) for preschool was first development under the Philippines Urban Community Welfare Program of Social Welfare Administration (now the Department of Social Welfare and Development). It was part of the UNICEF-Assisted Social Services Project in 1964. The first day care centers were organized in places with a community welfare program. At that time, DCS focused on the social development of preschool children.
In the 70's, it was discovered that there was an increasing number of undernourished children in day care centers. In 1972, supplemental feeding was included for malnourished preschoolers in day care centers. There were then 671 day care centers.
Two years later (1974), the country had 2,658 day care centers, 1,654 of which were partially funded by the Integrated Social Welfare and Nutrition Project of the First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos. Support from voluntary orgranizations and parent groups increased.
By 1975, more local governements sponsored the establishment of day care centers for their communities. Local governements funded 2,106 day care centers out of the total 3,390 centers. It was also in 1975 when the Child and Youth Welfare Code (Presidential Decree 603) took effect which provided Day Care Service for children who could not be cared for by their parents and relatives during part of the day.
In 1978, the Barangay Day Care Law (P.D. 1567) was passed. It provided for the establishment of a day care center in every barangay. It also gave the community the responsibility to set up Day Care Center for tis neglected preschools children.
Pasig Day Care Enrolment
Below are the following list of steps conducted by the Day Care Worker of Pasig City Day Care Service:
- Enrolment will start by the month of May upto end of June.
- All requirements should be completed before the start of the class.
- All parents must attend the orientation conducted by Day Care Workers.
- Start of classes will be announce in the orientation.

Pasig Day Care Requirements
Below are all the requirements needed to enroll your children in Pasig City Day Care Center:
- Children age should be in a bracket of 4 yrs and 9 months Old upto 5 yrs and 5 months Old
- Atleast 6 months residence in Pasig
- Barangay Clearance
- Voter's ID
- Birth Certificate
- Day Care Uniform
